Montessori Moments

I remember the very first time I entered a Montessori classroom. What was this? It didn't look or feel anything like the learning environment I was familiar with. My child was intrigued. I was enthralled. Thirteen years later, I still believe that there is something magical about the Montessori way. SO much so, that I wanted to create products that would "naturally" fit onto those Montessori shelves. Clocca "fills" in the gaps and allows teachers to spend their time observing and guiding those intrigued little minds...

One More Generation & Beyond

Clocca Concepts is a proud sponsor of OMG- One More Generation.

OMG was founded by two students of the Fayette Montessori School in Fayetteville, GA. The founders, Carter (9) and his Sister Olivia (7), are both extremely passionate about animals and conservation. They have been adopting Cheetahs in South Africa over the past few years and when they heard that Cheetahs, along with so many other species were close to extinction, they knew they had to act.

They started One More Generation, an organization in late 2009 and officially filed with the state of GA as a nonprofit late in January of this year. OMG was just granted their 501(c) (3) status by the IRS in May 2010.

Here is a brief list which spells out just a few of the initiatives both Carter and Olivia have started, which is pretty impressive.

· Their goal is to raise $50,000.00 by the end of this year to help support the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Rescue in South Africa who has spent the last 40-years tirelessly working towards helping keep Cheetah’s and other endangered animal species, such as the African Wild Dog, Brown Hyena, Servals, Suni Antelope, and Riverine Rabbits from becoming extinct.
· OMG was featured on 11-Alive News as part of the coverage regarding their initiative to help save some of the animals and Seabirds which were caught up in the BP Oil Spill.
· They have written to our local Governor’s office trying to get Rattlesnake Roundups stopped and legislation amended to allow venomous snakes to be protected under local laws which now exclude venomous snakes.
· They hosted an OMG Day at Zoo Atlanta and Reptile Day at Fernbank Museum in July 2010.

They are currently working with a variety of organizations including:

Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre in South Africa;
The WWF (World Wildlife Fund) in Washington DC.
Big Cat Rescue in Tampa FL
The Center for Biological Diversity in AZ
Georgia State University in GA
SOS (Save our Seabirds) in FL

Their goal is to help shed light on the plight of endangered and threatened species, and to show everyone, that anything is possible if you just get up and do something.
